The Five Mile House is located southeast of
Charleston, Illinois on Illinois Route 130. It's name derives from its
being five miles from the Coles County Court House which may no longer be
valid as roads have changed. It is, however, 3.7 miles south of the
junction of Illinois Routes 16 and 130.
